Washington D.C., USA
Earlier this year I visited the USA for two weeks and took in a whirlwind tour of the east coast. This trip involved Disneyworld, New York City, Buffalo and Washington D.C. - this post is about the three days I got to spend in D.C.
An interesting fact I learnt about Washington D.C. was that, apart from 4 exclusions including the Washington Monument, no new buildings are allowed to be higher than the Statue of Freedom on the top of the Capitol Building. This means that you don’t have skyscraper upon skyscraper blocking out the sun. Everything seemed a bit more open.
There are lots of museums surrounding the central park called National Mall, with Capitol Hill at one end and the Washington Monument at the other.
